Josh and I recently hosted a pop-up dinner party, inspired by Oh Happy Day. We chose an interesting outdoor location and tried to soak up the last of the summer/fall weather before the cold arrived in Chicago. I delivered invitations that gave minimal details and did not reveal the location of the party until a few hours ahead of time.
We bought a strand of solar lights, rented tables, packed all of our dishes, chairs, and candles and set up shop on the water front of Lake Michigan. We served a salad, our favorite chicken dish, and roasted marshmallows for S'mores at the end of the night! We were lucky to have amazing weather, but I brought a few blankets to use after the sun went down.
We had such a nice time with great friends enjoying a night on the lake. I am already thinking of our next location. Enjoy!
P.S. The party was definitely a lot of work to set up, but was so worth it. The clean-up and packing was much easier when we had everyone's help on the way back.
